I saw this with zero notion of what I was getting into. I didn’t know the soap opera of electing a pope would be so worth of Page Six.

Long live Paddington!

The Tarantino-style of telling me the story in out-of-time chapters really works for this one, but it’s Willa Fitzgerald that cements this movie as one of the best of the year. She needs to anchor a major role, take on some of the work Mia Goth has been working through.

The on-set camera work adds to the verisimilitude of the horror that we’re witnessing. The stock characters we get on set are also written perfectly to push the action forward. A fresh take on the horror genre.

The last 30 minutes are so good, they realized they needed to make a whole other movie rooted in it.

It seems impossible that the three actors who play the three protagonists… are the actual three people.

The second of two movies where I definitely shed a tear. A Go For It moment that really worked for me that I probably should have seen coming that was impossible for me to see coming.

The best horror movie of the year. One of the best movies (ever?) to honor its historical bloodline. The road is littered with Omen / Exorcist / Rosemary’s Baby leeches.

2024 wouldn’t be nearly as sexy or horny as it was without this movie. It’s so close to be a perfect film (the score slaps), but the final tennis match threw it off for me.

From start to finish, I sat in my IMAX movie chair and smiled. The scenes were breathtaking; the magnitude of the production cleared the high degree of difficulty it set for itself. For such a convoluted and dense story, it was so effectively written to extend Part 1—also a stellar movie—while maintaining audience interest and not losing the plot. The most fun I had at the movies in 2024.
